The Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024 concluded recently, with the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance securing another term in power. The alliance includes the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar’s faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). On the opposition side, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) comprised the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) led by Uddhav Thackeray, and Sharad Pawar’s NCP (Socialist).

- Mahayuti:
- BJP: 132 seats
- Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde): 57 seats
- Ajit Pawar’s NCP: 41 seats
- MVA:
- Shiv Sena (UBT): 20 seats
- Congress: 16 seats
- Sharad Pawar’s NCP: 10 seats
- Smaller parties and independents also secured a few seats, including AIMIM, CPI(M), and others.
Election Dynamics:
The elections saw intense campaigning with a focus on development issues, women empowerment schemes, and caste-based reservations.
